David grew up playing his minor hockey in Toronto, and his junior hockey in Thornhill, winning an Ontario Jr A Championship.  He continued his playing career in the US in the NCAA while earning a degree in Communications and Politics.  Once graduating he decided to play professionally in Europe and North America finding himself in Texas, the UK and France.  Since retiring from professional hockey in 2011, David is still involved in coaching at the AAA level for the Toronto Young Nationals and working as a scout with the Mississauga Steelheads in the Ontario Hockey League.

David currently works in the finance industry in Toronto and enjoys following the careers of his past players whether they are playing in the OHL, NCAA or the NHL.
